Food amounts & quantities 🧡

How much food should your dog eat daily? And how often? These questions about your puppy's and doggy's diet are certainly important. The nutritional needs of a dog depend on several different factors such as age, weight, and activity level.

Which nutrients are vital for your dog?

    Protein     Fats Carbohydrates
  Vitamins   Minerals   Water

The first thing to consider when it comes to dog food is whether your dog is a puppy or an adult dog. This is because dogs need different amounts of vital nutrients depending on their life stage. For example, a puppy needs to absorb certain fats and amino acids through the food that they can produce themselves later in life. When a puppy grows, it also needs food that is adapted for it to grow properly. Therefore, you should give a puppy food adapted for puppies and give an adult dog food adapted for adult dogs.

Complete food - covers all their dietary requirements

Dog food with the designation complete food covers the entire dog's nutritional needs, which applies to all food from petgood. When your dog eats complete food, you as a pet parent do not need extra food as it risks upsetting the nutritional balance. If you want to give your dog treats or toppings in the food, there is usually no danger as long as it does not make up more than about a fifth of the total portion.

Our complete food for puppies covers your puppy's nutritional needs to grow. In other words, it contains minerals, vitamins, fats, and amino acids in the right amount and thus covers your puppy's dietary requirements. We recommend that you switch to our complete food for adult dogs when the puppy is about 1 year of age depending on the breed.

Our adult food is also a complete food that covers the entire dog's nutritional needs. As you may already know, it is not only nutritious but also hypoallergenic and kind to our planet. A real win-win!

How much dog food and how often?

To figure out how much dog food your dog needs daily, just take a look at our feeding table. Dividing the meals into portions is recommended for dogs so as not to risk them eating all the food at once. A puppy usually gets food about 3-4 times a day while an adult dog usually eats about 1-3 times a day. Be sure to set routines and set times for food, and try not to give to food late at night.
